Genevieve, I like the way you bring us into this tremendous world-wide problem with a historic example and then a recent example. When will we learn? You rightly caution us about how severe environmental pollution is and how it impacts health and even the mortality rate. Do you consider yourself an environmentalist? Your advice seems to make me think so!

Most people in China do not pay much attention on copyright. On the contrast, we have to deal with copyright carefully. It will be a long time for our country to improve the legal system of information.

That is really a serious issues that there are many infringement of copyright in China. Most of time no one will care about the hidden dangrous about infringing copyright. Hope that maybe one day our creation will replace copyright infringement.

you guys are soooooo lucky. that was NOT AT ALL the case for me. it was funny though because at one point I asked AFS about something to do w/ my visa, and they told me this story, and we tried to have the same thing happen w/ the consulate in San Francisco, but they basically told us "not a chance.."

Ah! You had the Chicago mix up too! We were the ones who called AFS and told them to do it for us haha... And then they claimed they couldn't, and then we had to explain how they could get a volunteer to go, and then we had paper mix ups with the papers cause there was two different websites and then they needed to have a "group" of students...ay ay ay haha so complicating :D

But basically AFS can send a volunteer as long as there is a "group" of students they represent... you can get the background check done close to home. AFS will complain and complain and say how it isn't possible but it totally is... you just have to keep insisting and they eventually go... if you pay to go on afs you shouldn't have to pay to go to the nearest consulate...ours would have been two trips in plane to Chicago... yikes! :)

Hi, my name is Patrick and I am a student at Arapahoe High School in Colorado. I am doing a project in my World Literature class about Spain. We have spent the whole semester researching about our countries and reading books written by Spanish authors. Our final part of the project is to learn about the culture of our country through a personal blog written by someone in our country. Now that my project is explained, I was wondering how the culture of Spain compares to that of the United States? Thanks!
